You do not want to miss the sensational cast of “Million Dollar Quartet” at The World Theatre.
“It focuses on the evening of Dec. 4, 1956, when four icon music legends came together in Sun Studios,” said Steve Barth, executive director of Crane River Theater. “It has Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Johnny Cash. It’s all based on the historical event of when they came together with producer Sam Phillips. The show goes through all their big hits.”
“A lot of these performers who have done ‘Million Dollar Quartet’ — whether they’ve played Elvis, Jerry Lee, Johnny or Carl — they do this around the country on a regular basis,” Barth noted. “So they’ll move from one production to the next and have kind of made a career of playing these characters. We really lucked out because during the month of March, the national tour is on break. We have a cast of eight people. Five are from the national tour.”
“I was able to secure, for the role of Dyanne, which is Elvis’ girlfriend who has a couple big songs, one of our veteran alumni, Callandra Olivia,” Barth said.
